このたびYODOYAは、『ART AFTER HUMAN』を開催いたします。これは、「人類以降のアート」をテーマにした、南條史生氏（森美術館館長）と緑川雄太郎（アートディレクター）によるトークイベントです。 『ART AFTER HUMAN』について議論するためのキーワードは、AI、Anthropocene、Astrobiologyです。アート(art)は、人類によって行われる人工的(artificial)な営みです。世界最古のアートは6万5千年前、あるいは７０万年前に、当時の人類種によってつくられたと言われています。地球の気候が安定し、ホモ・サピエンスが農耕・牧畜を始めてから約1万年が経った西暦2018年の現在、76億人が住むこの地球上で、アートは実に多様な変化を見せています。死を想像することが宗教の基礎であったのと同じように、アートの基礎は未来への想像力です。そして、これからアートはどうなるかを考えることは、これからわたしたち人類（ホモ・サピエンス）がどうなるかを考えることと等しいと言えます。 ではなぜいま『ART AFTER HUMAN』なのでしょうか。これは脅迫、オカルト、蒙昧、陰謀説としてではなく、論理的な因果として導き出される現実的な仮説ですが、遅かれ早かれ、現生人類（ホモ・サピエンス）は絶滅すると考えられます。これは、かつて実在した約20種類の人類の多くが絶滅した歴史を照らし合わせれば自ずと算出される、実際に高確率で起こり得るひとつの推測です。700万年前のサへラントロプス以降、現生人類はホモ・サピエンスに限られています。ホモ・サピエンスの繁栄は、他の種にはない想像力と好奇心によって導かれました。しかし、2050年には人口増加による危機的食糧難が予想されています。ポール・ヴィリリオであれば「狂気嗜好(philofolie)」と呼ぶ進歩主義による地球規模の繁栄は現在、逆説的に、ホモ・サピエンスを自滅へ導こうとしています。 「生存の危機という未来を目前に控え、わたしたちホモ・サピエンスがその想像力を駆使してできること、できないことは何か。『ART AFTER HUMAN』はそれを考えるための足掛かりになるのではないか」。『ART AFTER HUMAN』は、このような問題と仮説に基づいて開催されます。その検証は、人類がいなくなった後のアートを想像すること、あるいはホモ・サピエンスではない別の人類によるアートを想像することについて話すことで明らかになることでしょう。なお、冒頭に挙げた3つのキーワードはそれぞれ以下の参考文献、Tegmark, Max (2017). Keywords for discussing “ART AFTER HUMAN” are AI, Anthropocene, Astrobiology. Art is an artificial activity that is done by humankind. It is said that the oldest art has been made 65,000 years ago or 700,000 years ago by the human species at that time. Stabilized the climate, it has passed about 10,000 years after homo sapiens had started agriculture and stock raising. And now, it’s 2018. Art shows us various changes on the earth where 7.6 billion people are living. Like the base of religion was to imagine death, the base of art is the imagination to the future. It must be possible to say that thinking about the future of art equals thinking about the future of we human (homo sapiens). So, why “ART AFTER HUMAN” now? Although this is not a threat, cult, ignorance and conspiracy theories but a realistic hypothesis that is led as a logistic cause and effect, it is considered that the contemporary human will sooner or later be extinct. This is one of the presumptions that will highly happen in fact and will be led naturally if you check the history that about 20 humans had become extinct. After Sahelanthropus who had lived 700,000 years ago, the contemporary human is limited to Homo sapiens. The prosperity of human was brought by imagination and curiosity that other species don’t have. In 2050, however, the critical food shortage is expected. The global prosperity by progressivism, Paul Virilio calls it “philofolie”, is now paradoxically leading Homo sapiens to self-destruction. “ART AFTER HUMAN” will be held based on this problem and hypothesis. “Now we are in front of the crisis. But we have imagination. so, what is what we can and can’t? “ART AFTER HUMAN” must be a foothold in order to think about it”. The verification will be cleared there by the imagination of art after human or art by another human (not Homo sapiens).
